CCTV Bridge Help

Setup instructions

Use this guide to connect an NVR or compatible IP camera, use phone pairing, understand RTSP credentials and activate your CCTV Bridge licence.

Before you start

Your TV device and CCTV equipment should normally be connected to the same local network. Have the local IP address of your NVR/camera, the RTSP or device username/password, and the number of channels you want to view.

CCTV Bridge is a viewer. It does not host your camera video on this website. Live viewing connects to the camera system available on your local network.

Add a camera system

Automatic discovery

From the CCTV Bridge home screen choose Find cameras. The app searches the local network for supported devices. Select a detected recorder or camera and complete the requested sign-in details.

Manual setup

Choose Cameras & groups and add a new system. Enter the local recorder/camera IP, RTSP port (commonly 554), username, password and camera/channel count.

After saving, open Live cameras to validate the connection.

Connect using your phone

If typing credentials with the TV remote is inconvenient, choose the phone connection option in CCTV Bridge. The TV displays a six-digit pairing code or QR code.

  1. Scan the QR code or open cctvbridge.com/connect/ on your phone.
  2. Confirm the six-digit TV code.
  3. Enter the local recorder IP, manufacturer/family, RTSP port, channel count, username and password.
  4. Tap Connect to TV.
Pairing data is temporary. The pairing service is designed to deliver the configuration to the waiting TV and then remove the delivered credentials from server storage.

Which username and password?

Use the CCTV device's local camera/NVR credentials, not automatically the password for a manufacturer's mobile app account.

For example, Tapo RTSP normally uses the camera account created for third-party camera access. Other brands may use the NVR administrator account or a dedicated ONVIF/RTSP user.

If live video stays blank, verify the local IP, RTSP port, username and password first. A saved configuration does not necessarily mean the camera accepted the credentials.

Live cameras and PTZ

Choose Live cameras from the dashboard. Use the remote to move focus between camera tiles and press OK for fullscreen. Supported PTZ cameras can expose directional and zoom controls from fullscreen view.

You can organize important cameras with Favorites and create saved systems/groups from Cameras & groups.

Recordings

The Recordings section is available for supported recorder/camera integrations. Recording capabilities can differ by manufacturer, firmware and whether recordings are stored on an NVR, SD card or cloud service.

Free trial and licence

New installations can use the configured free-trial period to test functionality. The dashboard Licence tile shows the current state and remaining time.

When activation is required, open Licence or Settings → Licence & Subscription. Scan the activation QR with your phone and enter the licence code supplied after purchase or by your installer/dealer.

Annual manual/dealer licences are linked to the TV installation after successful activation. If a device is replaced, contact your supplier/admin so the old device binding can be reset.

Quick troubleshooting

RTSP connecting, then no picture

Check the credentials and stream support. Test the same RTSP stream in VLC on a computer if possible.

App closes on an older Fire TV Stick

Older Fire OS devices have less memory and older Android APIs. Use a compatible build and avoid unnecessarily high stream resolution/bitrate when testing.

Cameras use a different IP range

Cameras connected directly to an NVR may be on the NVR's private internal camera network rather than the main router LAN. In that case, connect through the NVR IP and its channel streams rather than directly to those internal addresses.

Need help?

Your installer/dealer can manage your licence and camera setup through the CCTV Bridge dealer system.
